Private Piano
In the 25 minute lesson, the individual student will work on keyboarding, proper posture and hand positions. The lesson will also cover the basics of rhythm, notation, ear training and sight-reading. Major and Minor scales will be covered. The instructor strongly requests that every student have at least a basic keyboard of 25 black keys on it.
COURSE DESCRIPTION – Private piano lessons Students will meet one-on-one with the instructor for one half-hour lesson per week. High school and adult beginning students should purchase a copy of Alfred’s Basic Adult Piano Course: Adult All-In-One Course, Vol. 1. Younger beginners should purchase a copy of Alfred’s Premier Piano Course: Lesson 1A. Please bring your piano book to the first lesson. Experienced students should bring their most recent lesson and/or exercise books so that the instructor can assess your current level. Students participate in a recital at the end of the semester.
